SCHEDULE LETTER

The following is a sample letter for sending a college coach or professional scout a copy of your high school or summer baseball schedule

This is a simple letter to send along with a copy of your fall, spring (high school) or summer schedule. It is important to send college coaches copies of your schedules, in order for them to watch you in real game situations. Many coaches will not offer scholarship money to a player they have not seen play, in a game. It is important to keep the coaches aware of when and where you will be playing

NOTE: It is important that the telephone contact information be on the copy of the schedule. Not in the body of this letter. That way the coach or scout only has one piece of paper to keep track of. Especially important for pitchers!

Date:

Coach Daniel Wilson
State University
P.O. Box 3340
Collegedale, State 11220-3340

Coach Wilson,

I am writing this letter to tell you of my continued interest in playing baseball for State University.

I am enclosing a copy of my (name the season) spring high school baseball schedule. My coach's school (or work) and home telephone numbers are on the schedule. Please contact him with any schedule questions. (This is especially important for pitchers ....college coaches will want to verify that you will be pitching on a day that they visit)

I realize that it is very difficult for college coaches to see high school players (during the spring season), due to conflicts with their own team's schedules.

Use this paragraph to update the coach on any news or items of interest. Such as; if you were invited to a prestigious high school showcase (Perfect Game, Team One, etc). Any honors received..... maybe a football or basketball award, a special academic achievement, etc.

Please send any information regarding upcoming camps that you will be hosting.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I hope to hear more about State University and Tiger baseball, in the future.

Sincerely,

(sign the letter here)
