Please send out prayers to the family and friends of West Springfield(Northern VA) Varsity baseball player Adam Foote who died today after being involved in a car accident in which the driver (who is in critical condition) is estimated to have been drag racing at speeds in access of 90 MPH..

PLEASE do not drag race, do not exceed the speed limit, do not get into the car of any driver who is capable of doing either. Your life is much more valuable and much more thrilling than a 5 minute race that could kill you, your friends or strangers. Over 20 students in Northern VA, and MD alone, kids just like you and your friends have left this world and will never be replaced. All these students have died THIS SCHOOL YEAR due to car accidents, all of their own cause, or the driver of the car they were in.. That is since September, only 8 months, that is almost 3 lives A MONTH due to drag racing, drinking and driving and not using common sense. PLEASE use the brain you have and the knowledge your parents have given you, this is one time. YOUR PARENTS ARE RIGHT!!!!
Parents who are reading this..
Drag racing is out of control with our teen drivers, I urge you to talk to your drivers every day, even go to the extreme of installing a devise now on the market that will not allow a car to go over a certain speed which you determine. (I forget what they called it on the news tonite). Be aware that studies and investigations in this area are showing that those kids who are "souping" up their cars are doing it to race them. Once again, we have lost a member of our future due to careless thinking.. Parents take a stand before it is your child.
