The Wichita Falls Rider Raiders (10-2) took home the championship from the annual Texas/Oklahoma tournament defeating the Mustang(Okla City)Broncos 3-2. The Raiders went into the championship game having not allowed a run in their four previous games in the tournament. It was a great weekend of baseball.

Thank you Raider06 for the update. We have since move on but really enjoyed the scores from the Red River Shootout. I believe that is the best tournement we played in terms of competition and organization.

This is not David. This is Scott's dad. Ryan was cruising 89-91 for 5 innings and hit 94 twice against Mustang.

Boco,
Its good to see your name on here. I talked to you a couple times when we came to Chickasha and ya'll came to Texas. The weather and the competition made this the best tournament I've been to in a few years. We would like to continue to increase the competition next year. This is a great tournament for coaches tosee the talent in North Texas/ Southern Okla.

Brian,
We would really like to get a couple of top notch schools out of Okla City next year. Any ideas?

I was remiss in not giving you the due props your team deserves by winning the Red River Shootout, that is outstanding achievement. I wish ya'll all the luck this season. Some teams that comes to mind about the OK teams that would be good to invite would be Carl Albert, Edmond Sante Fe, and Stillwater. I would include some of the smaller schools but their pitching may not last as long as this tourney runs but they are very competitive on a game by game basis.

Thanks, Boco.
This team is not going to be happy with anything leas than a trip to Round Rock for the state finals. I appreciate the heads up on the Oklahoma teams. I will pass the recommendation along.

Glad to hear Ryan is doing well/ Is Scott pitching and playing OF? I would also add Edmond Memorial to your lists as they have alot of very good juniors and some promising soph's.

CA, Stillwater and SF would also be good additions as BOCO mentioned. Also add Norman North as they will be very good in 2 years as they are loaded with very good sophs who are starting Varsity as will only get better.

I'll be watching for Rider during the playoffs and good luck on your way to RR
