CD- Thanks! It is a big opening series followed by a weekday game against San Diego and then a weekend series against Wichita, then a trip to Hawaii!!! Where, speaking of travel perks, I plan on to hanging out of the beach, going to a Luau and.....three days of baseball. ....Life as a Dirtbag fan is GREAT!!! Also, you have a PM.

CD: Coach Gillespie is a breath of fresh air…smart, funny, old school and knows everyone in this game…Coach Shine, I believe is the next generation of outstanding coaches…I truly feel that Irvine has not lost a step….but taken ten big steps forward. Teams to watch this year in the Big West will be Long Beach, Fullerton, Irvine and Cal Poly….Both LB and CP basically have the same players as last year…just more experienced and ready to explode, they saw the Eaters and Titans in Omaha last year and know they are just as good, if not better (esp. with that Worley kid on the hill).…Fullerton and Irvine, as you know have gone thru coaching changes and changes in philosophy, never count Fullerton out….and as you can see from above, I believe that Irvine will be a power house… when most ranking personnel are already writing them out before the first game. Just like last year. S: I agree this is going to be a fun part of the season….Irvine starts @ Reno, then home vs. U$C (Trojans) then off to New Orleans to play Tulane, then back at U$C, home @ Hawaii, then off to Tempe, AZ to play Florida International and Arizona St, also during the year the Eaters will play Kansas St in Kansas and New Mexico in Albuquerque. Throw in UCLA, LMU and USD, then home/away for conference games. Oh my!
M to the double O, S to the E.

Bully- Glad to hear the coaching situation worked out. The Dirtbags also experienced a coaching change, losing their pitching coach to the Pros. The players were a bit stunned by the news but are very happy with his replacement as well. Thanks for the props and I don't doubt that Irvine should not be counted out. I am especially looking forward to the showdown at the Irvine/Fullerton series. That is some traveling the Eaters are going to be doing. Will The Bullwinkle be found bar-hopping in these cities as well? Newcomer- What an exciting way for you and your son to start out the Freshman year....at Hawaii!!! Enjoy every moment as the time goes quickly. Just seems like yesterday I joined this site and now son is in his junior year.

LHPitcher, I'll be in the Valley this weekend. If I can't find a way to listen to son's game vs. Georgia online, I'll head over to Tempe to watch some of the tournament.
