Moc, that's where we stay. It's very comfortable and convenient. I KNOW that this year, compliments of the NCAA (moving back the starting date) it will be sunny and hot on opening day at Coastal!!!!

We will be travelling to Lexington Virginia to play VMI in a 3 game set starting Feb 22nd.
Made the same trip two years ago around the same time when JME was a freshman. Friday rained out, Saturday game delayed and finally finished the Saturday game Sunday and played another 9 after that. It was cold. Son came in to pinch hit in the last inning of the last game. That was a long trip for one at bat. Hope this year the weather is a little better but figure February is still February in Virginia. I'll be taking plenty of warm clothes.
Terpfan, my son played select ball in 5th,6th and 7th grade with a couple of kids on your roster.
CD
I will try and provide a scouting report for you on VMI when I get back.

I highly recommend Trudy's on west 30th street. Only about four blocks from the campus.
Moc1 Thanks! I wish my son was down the street at FS for purely selfish reasons. (5 minutes versus 9 hours!) Quite a few of his friends are Mocs also and I hope to cath them in a few games this spring. His God-brother, is a Soph.outfielder for UNF from Lakeland High School. CD Are your parents coming for opening weekend? I hope to share Continental Breakfast with them and all the other families that stay there.

puma1 - yes my parents and my in-laws will all be staying there opening weekend. They all look forward to those magnificent breakfasts I'll tell my Mom to look out for you!
jme - I'll take the scouting report but it will probably go something like this: Runs will be at a premium as they had two pitchers pitch in the Cape the last two summers. Their big issue is scoring runs themselves. It will take a well-played game to beat them. They swept Florida in three games last spring.
That matches up pretty well with what I have read about VMI so far this year. Should be a great test for Lafayette to get a feel for what this years team is capable of doing.

puma1-Small world-We're counting on big things from Preston Hale this year(he should have won the "Flex-off" this year-well-built). Really nice parents.
Also friends of former teammate of your son, Kyle Moeder-His Dad and I played basketball together-although BIG Bob was GOOD. I just passed him the ball.

Moc1-It sure is a small world!! My son and Kyle M. played 8U s****r together and Preston's parents (my son's God parents) have been friends just as long. Am glad he is doing well. Saw him get his first college hit in that freezing tournament at Coastal. He's a very intense young man! He needs to stay healthy-he has unusual accidents...kicked by a horse, was one!

He grew up in Gaithersburg and played for the GSA Select team for several years. The team they sent to Cooperstown is still pretty well represented in college ball today. At Maryland its Pupa and Rozak, Marshall plays for Richmond, two Gorgen's one at UCI and another Riverside, Handler plays at Lasalle, Hurd at Towson, Newman at Winthrop,Boyd at GW and there were a couple others that I can't recall right now, but needless to say that was a talented bunch of 12 year olds.

BW - how is the new coach thus far? rz1's son pitched for Coach Gillespie last year in pro ball for the Yankees. The coach is aware of what it takes to win the whole ball of wax. Wouldn't that be sweet. Hope BW Jr. has a big year!
DB2BMom - So you guys are going to start out by beating up on the weak sisters of the poor? What an opening series! Hope Vance has a big year!
