Basically, a 3 year JUCO transfer must have 60% of his 4 year degree requirements to transfer to a D1 or D2 program and be elligible. My son is in a similar situation. 1st year Medical Redshirt, Second year played, but plagued with injury. This year is his third. He's remained at the same JUCO which, fortunately, offers a 4 year degree in education through affiliation with another nearby university. Coach and academic advisor have moved him into an education major in order that he may complete some junior level education courses in his 3rd year and meet the requriements. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the coach and academic advisor are watching out for him. It sounds like they are taking all necessary steps, but I don't think we will actually know until the transcripts are delivered. If not, it's NAIA or D3. I've provided my son with copies of the new rule to give to the coach and academic advisor.
