Son got the start vs 2006 DIII National Champions & 2007 Pre-season #7 Etta Express. I am so proud of my son. He is not pitching to the level of his previous 2 year's consistency, but he continues, when called on, to step on the rubber for his team, coaches & fans. For this, he is a proven winner & will always be my Champion.
He goes 4.1 innings w/ no decision, but thanks to the bull-pen & sticks, team wins. His control is a little out of sync (3 WP), but he battled every hitter. Only 1 (scored in 1st; single, WP, single, WP) of 5 lead-off batters reached! He may have lasted longer, but by the 4th, 3 walks & 2 HBP, the pitch count was up. He did get out of a bases loaded jam - 0 runs. A costly error, thus 2 unearned runs may also have limited his chance to go longer. A much needed shake-up & challenge may help in the long season. God knows & I trust his plan. Overall: 7 hits(6 S, 1 Dbl-rbi), 5 Ks (3 looking), 4 R (2 ER) vs Historical DIII Powerhouse.
