I'm sure I must have missed it on another thread somewhere, but I am curious to know what the criteria is for a redshirt (non-medical). Does it mean that the player cannot play any innings at all or is there some type of minimum amount? Thanks.

A player cannot participate at all in any games for a non-medical redshirt. They can dress out, warm up, pre-game, etc., but cannot appear in a game.

Thanks for the help. I had heard that there might be a difference between league and non-league games, but I am assuming based on your response that there is not.

Redshirting is regulated by the NCAA solely and the information for non medical is correct--can't have participated for any part of any inning in any game. Medical redshirting is much different in that some games and innings within a certain portion of the season can be played before the disabling injury and this requires a request for and approval by the NCAA.
