2007 has arrived and I certainly wish you all much success!

I was fortunate to coach a player whose father has been in Iraq for the last year and has instituted an interesting program which I believe you all would like to be a part of. It is called “Caps for Kids.” The kids in Iraq think the American Baseball Caps are the neatest thing, and LTC Devine wants to pass them out to the orphanages, as well some of the local kids in Iraq.

It is simple to help!

1. So LTC Devine can expect the package, he would appreciate it if you would let me know you are supporting this event, and I will notify him in Iraq. My e-mail is alm@mostvaluableplayer.biz

2. Send 2-3 Baseball Caps (If not new, ones in good shape will suffice) to the following address:

LTC William Devine

TF 399 CSH

FOB Diamondback

APO AE 09334

Thank you so much for your support with Caps for Kids and I certainly look forward to working with you in 2007.

Please do not hesitate to pass this e-mail

Thanks

Al McCormick

Hi Al. We are interested in helping as Corey's brother is in Iraq currently serving as a Marine. I am going to forward this to some "Baseball people" we know and try to collect some hats! Corey will help with the collecting, and Jeff and I are happy to do the mailing.

Thank you so much Ms. Laub.

LTC Devine is really excited and appreciative for all who have jumped on the bandwagon so far.

Although I am just a messenger, I am truly appreciative for all who have taken the time to read and especially those who have sent caps so far.

As always, thank you for the opportunity.

The Founder of Caps For Kids

http://www.mostvaluableplayer.biz/html/caps_for_kids.html

LTC Devine sent a picture of a young kid with serious injuries to his hands and to the right side of his head. He is the kid who loves American hats and use to take them off the soldier’s heads and wear them. This young kid, through his actions, created the "Caps For Kids" program.

LTC Devine has been transferred to another part of Iraq. Keep him, as all the troops, in your thoughts.

The new point of contact is LTC Darryl Burton. Please use the same address identified in a previous posting.

Please keep it up, unfortunately there are many more kids.

Thank you for this opportunity,
Al McCormick

Thanks for the photos!! We have collected over 500 hats at this point, and an article will be in the Columbia Flier this Thursday or next. We will be mailing out the caps this week, and expect even more when the article is printed in the newspaper. Thanks to everyone that has sent or dropped off caps to us!

Appreciate everyone's support! It means alot to the kids as well the individuals passing them out. Not only do they get to place smiles on some kids faces, they have to believe people here are thinking of them.

You are fantastic.
