I know of one Diamond Prospects that started up about a year ago. They cover high school and college baseball in South Carolina, and also some players with SC ties that are in professional baseball. They do some showcases, and a website, www.thediamondprospects.com that provides a lot of information about players in SC, college committments, player ranksings, etc. The website requires a subscription to get to some content. I believe they also offer (for a fee)some kind of recruiting seminar or counseling. I think the organization is run by Austin Alexander, and I think he was formerly an assistant college coach at Elon, maybe? I guess that's all that I think I know- ha!

Lefty's Dad's info is on the money. Austin Alexander (AA) was also pitching coach and recruiting coordinator at Spartanburg Methodist before going to Elon. He also helped coach the Diamond Devils, the premier travel team in SC, while at SMC. He with the Dirtbags and Impact Baseball for awhile after leaving Elon. In addition to Diamond Prospects he is also coaching with the Diamond Devils again.

My son attended the Diamond Prospects showcase in July. They probably had 130-140 kids and approximately 30 professional and college scouts. They probably would have had more scouts had the showcase not been the same day as the funeral of the former East Carolina coach.

From what I have seen AA knows everyone and is well respected by college and professional scouts in the Carolinas. The DP showcases are good value for the money. They have an unsigned senior showcase and an underclass showcase coming up in Sept./Oct.
