Chancellors Mike Trn and Spotsys Matt Houston lock up in a pitchers duel. Trn took a no hitter into the 6th but gets a tough loss. Both pitchers go the distance in a crisp 1 hour 45 minute game. Travis Payne drives in fellow soph. Kevin Seay with a clutch 2 out,2 strike liner to CF to win the game.Soph. Houston is now 4-0 in as many starts.

In a highly anticipated Battlefield District battle with neighboring Courtland, the homestanding Cougars took the lead in the early district race with a 1-0 victory.
Pitching was the story of the night in this brief, one hour and thirty minute matchup. Courtland starter Jon Jones narrowly got the best of Spotsylvania's Matt Houston,as Houston walked a batter in the fifth, who advanced on a groundout, then scored when Zach Sherrod lined a double in the left-center gap. Houston was forced to pitch out of a jam in only one other inning. Jones, on the other hand, managed to strand Knights baserunners in five of his seven innings. Jones picked off four base runners. Christian Armstron and Houston had Spotsy's only two hits of the night, as Jones struck out nine, six over the first three innings. Houston, in addition to surrendering only two hits, struck out five and walked one, as the Knights played outstanding defense behind him.

In the two big games on Friday 4/25 :

Courtland beats Chancellor 4-0 behind a strong pitching performance from Lucas Zaluzney. Jon Jones and Mickey Tichenor both go deep for Courtland , and spoil another strong outing from Chancellor's Mike Trn.

Spotsylvania finally gets the sticks going against Caroline to win 7-2. The Knights were fortunate enough to get to Caroline's ace Aaron Atkinson early with a four run first inning. That was all the support that Corey Pritchett would need. He finished with 15 k's in six innings of work.

On Tuesday, Spotsylvania travels to Chancellor while Courtland hosts JM.

King George has really improved during the course of this season and may surprise someone before the season is over.

After being rescheduled three times due to the rain, Courtland wins and claims the district title.
Jon Jones did not have his best stuff but outlasts Corey Pritchett to get his 7th win.
