I like the competition in the SE District, all well coached and hungry players. This has been my observation, and would ask you to post any positions of players to watch at the key battles.Very often we pay attention only to the pitchers, How about the rest of the position comparison chart? Too early still to decide which team solely is number one.

I have been impressed with 2 teams in the SE - WB and Hickory. I think WB swings it a little better.

GB is an average team at best.

The Hickory game vs Great Bridge was canceled to rain. I would like to see the other guys, not just Ward,Western Branch was fast on there feet at the game I saw.The Western Branch pitcher did a great job, no wonder? Are you sure you would call Great Bridge so-so?

I've seen GB play a couple of times and haven't been impressed. Their #1 P threw 70-75% CBs against a weak hitting Grassfield team. WB crushed them.

What is so good about GB? What do they do well?

I don't know?, I am interested in watching the SE District and attempting to learn more of the programs, advantages and disadvantages?I do know that there (GB) players are well received by D1 schools and it is known that some of the coach's from the other SE District schools came from Great Bridge.I personally enjoy the hospitality at Western Branch-the cook.I have never seen so many 8th graders do so well, and shave(Ha-Ha)

I see Princess Anne is going strong that is my wifes (old) school? Is the Beach District as strong as it has been in the past? What games would I want to go see as compared to a Western Branch,Hickory match-up?

Beach is not as strong as last year because most of the teams are young overall. Kellam and Lakeland have been a surprised. Ocean Lakes and Bayside are in the thick of things. Cox got off to a slow start but they are winning again. I'm interested to see how they will finish up. Princess Anne seems to be a step ahead of everyone.

Nomadad,

Wgarlick meant Landstown.......Any match-up involving Bayside, FC, PA, Kellam, OL, Landstown, Cox and Salem are good match-ups and I believe to be entertaining.......the Beach does not have a Hickory/WB match-up this year. They both have dominate pitching and outstanding hitters up and down the line and most of the beach teams have one outstanding pitcher, maybe two on a few teams and good hitters about 1 to 5. Bayside has probably the best hitting line-up 1-9; Salem/OL have the two top power hitters in my opinion.

Half way thru the season - here are probably the top players in the beach at this point:

Robbie Newman and Jimmy G - Salem
Zaine Jack - Bayside (Watch out for Chris Warren)
Ben Tomchick and Ross Cardwell- PA
Cameron Butler and Kyle Lawhorn - Landstown
James Taylor and Patrick Harrington - Kellam
Pat Hall and CJ Buie - Ocean Lakes - (Watch out for Ryan Shook)
Kyle P and Drew Wilkerson - Cox -(Watch out for Chris Taylor and Zach B)

A couple of outstanding players that I'm sure will be heard from before the season is over for their teams:

Frankie Lewis - Ocean Lakes
Blake Boyce - FC
Shawn Gayheart - FC
Dylan Hudson - PA

This is from the games I've seen. If someone else would like to add information, please do.

I agree. I was just asking for another opinion. From what ive seen id have to say that Ben Tomchick is probably the most dominating of them all though.

I have only seen one pitcher this year that has a chance to be highly drafted in this area and it is Ward from Hickory. The others are good high school pitchers but not too much in the way of solid D1 pitchers that have come out in the past few years.

I would look at Western Branch, as he is highly regarded by UVA and Maury has a smart left hander that works the batters over. All seniors.
