As you know a good friend of mine in the baseball community, Towny Townsend, has been battling throat cancer. His cancer has recently moved to his lungs.
Towny has patented his hitting disc training aid and purchases of this product will help Towny and his family with portions of the profits going to support the American Cancer Society and the David Wright Foundation supporting MS.
This is a solid tool that can help players at all levels, the instructional DVD is outstanding too! The product has been endorsed by David Wright, Mike Cuddyer, Gary Lavelle and even my own son, Matt Smith. The DVD contains hitting instructions from all three of these professionals.
Please take the time to look at the link below and consider forwarding this link to as many people as possible that you may know in the baseball community.
I'm so sorry to hear that Towny's cancer has spread. I have never met Towny, but he has participated in our site and when I corresponded with him about a year ago I was impressed with what a nice and caring man he is.
I've created a "shortcut" to this thread in our General Forum so that more members and visitors can read it and visit the link. Please consider a purchase on the Hitting Disc site to benefit Towny's family, other cancer patients, and the foundation supporting MS (also a pet cause of mine because my father died over 10 years ago of health complications related to MS).
Very best wishes to Towny and his family.
Julie

I had the pleasure of meeting Towny in person this morning. He came to an Atlanta Braves open tryout in Richmond, just to see how some players he knew would do. He had to leave early for scheduled chemo. He was very upbeat and was kind enough to spend some time talking to both me and my son, which we both appreciated.
I've known many people who've had to endure chemo and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. The good news is, they're all still here and so is Towny. Let's keep it that way!

Thanks Midlo Dad! Towny deserves a break with all he has endured. He worked with my son the entire fall and winter while he was battling his second bought with throat cancer.

Thanks again for all the thoughts, kind words, and inspiration that this web site has provided me an my family during this 3rd battle with cancer. I have some good news from my last CAT scan...tumors in both lungs are down by 33% and I can live with the side effects although I'm a funny looking bald guy.Haha...I think we have it on the run. Thanks for all the PM's and emails and positive energy shown me during the last 5 years....you probably get tired of hearing about it but I'm truly indebted to this baseball community...My family sends their best to all of you who have lifted us up during some rough times off the diamond. Thanks Blaster, MN-Mom for your support and Midlo-Dad it was a pleasure meeting you and your son in Richmond...he has a bright future and I look forward to followng him. Thanks again everyone. Towny
