I haven't seen anyone go through the minors this fast since Andruw Jones.

September callup perhaps?

BTW, what do you make of that 0.14 GO/AO ratio in his two AAA starts? Just a temporary aberration?

Given his history, I'd say that is exactly it. Not a large enough set of sample data to draw any conclusions yet. He's definitely exceeded expectations thus far though.

Let's see

From my memory:
Dan Hudson- Princess Anne high school pitcher leading team to state title. He was Beach Player of the Year and 1st team all state as pitcher (with title in hand). There were plenty of critics on that one! On his way to ODU. Hip-Hip-Hooray!!!!
Was a Freshman All American at ODU. Either 1st team or 2nd team All-CAA. Pitched a handful of complete games (much to fathers dismay) Always held his composure while on the mound at ODU. Myers helped create a kid who works fast (some say too fast), can continue to pitch through adversity and lack of offense. Quite a few games where he did well, just no runs to support him.
Did well at the Cape............. Myers is great pitching guy.
DRAFTED in the 5th round.
I have actually watched Hudson pitch many innings, both in high school and college. His success may be a surprise to some, but I can honestly say, he has not begun to exceed my expectations. Only his second start as a AAA pitcher, time will tell, but at this point an out is an out. First outing, he struggled, second outing was great. Perhaps the ground ball, fly ball ratio had to do more with the strike zone than anything else. Maybe Grasscutter can step in here, I believe he went down to Charlotte.
Charlotte will be at the Tides on 29, 30 and 31st. Hopefully, we will all be down there to support another local kid. Grasscutter is buying the beer!!!

Charlotte will also play at Norfolk on September 1st.
Grasscutter, let us know when it gets closer, which night Dan is projected to pitch.

Jason Godin, another ODU product gets promoted to Triple A.
Grasscutter, how many recent ODU pitchers does that make going to the next level? How many are playing right now?

By my count, that's seven former, recent (since '04) ODU pitchers in professional baseball. Hope I'm not missing anyone.
