Who do you see as the top 2005 players? Identify their position, why you think they are the best, and where they go to HS.

Stay positive, focus on the individual player versus negatively comparing.

Agree, on Snyder expect he'll be high draft pick. He's big and strong. Can't imagine he won't be more highly regarded than Matt (or was it Mitch?) Moses who was a low first round in the last draft.

Teams didn't pitch to him as a soph. last year. Hit 8 homers as a freshmen. Man among boys.

I have seen Brandon Snyder play several times and yes he is a very good ball player and is definiately a D1 player prospect and possibly a draft pick but no where near the caliber that Matt Moses was at the same age. Matt just shined above the rest at the same age and I haven't seen many that equal his talent then or now.

Brandon has speed and a natural ability. Having a dad who owns an indoor academy has allowed him to work non-stop and it shows in all aspects of his game. He can swing a bat but his hitting average has never impressed me when it includes his hits and HR on his home field (Westfield). That HS has one of the smallest outfields in Northern Virginia and because of it many of those who play there (opponents also) have high HR counts after a game. I am impressed on the numbers he seems to put up off his own field, they are above average for a 2005. It will be interesting to see where he falls in the draft.

How is his back doing? I work with one of his teammates dad's and he tells me he has been suffering from alot of back problems the past year? Hope its nothing more than growth problems and that it is clearing up.

There is no doubt that Brandon is on top of the list. Playing with him this past summer on the Barnstormers, was incredible. Every tournament we went to, he was the talk of the tournament and showed why. But nothing beats the home run derby that took place in the World Series out in New Mexico; it was amazing. As far as his tools, the only thing that Justin Upton has an advantage over is speed.
