The Virginia Mavericks are looking for 2 high school varsity players to round out the fall roster.

We Need:

- Starting middle infielder

- Outfielder with big bat and speed

You must be a starter for your high school varsity team.

Schedule is Varsity 1 NVTBL, with maybe 1 local tournament. We will be playing a light schedule--NOT a ton of tournaments or going out of town every other weekend.

Coaches bios are as follows:

Andy Hetzer - Andy played Division 1 baseball at the University of North Carolina at a variety of positions, mainly functioning as a middle infielder. He has conducted numerous player and coaching clinics for Northern Virginia youth programs since 1995. Andy has coached numerous travel baseball team in Northern Virginia. He has several coaching certifications and is an IPFFA certified trainer. Andy has great technical knowledge of the game, specializing in teaching proper fielding and hitting, in addition to being an excellent strategist on the field.

Cody Slape -Cody was a four-year Division 1 catcher at Yale University , where he worked closely with former St. Louis Cardinal and Head Coach John Stuper on the development and mechanics of the pitching staff. While at Yale, he acted as instructor in a number of University-hosted youth baseball clinics. During this time, he also played summer ball in the Dallas, Texas area in the DABA, and assisted with a local area youth baseball team. During the Summer of 2004 he traveled to Nicaragua and Venezuela with the Athletes in Action baseball team, playing in exhibition games against local teams as well as teaching instructional clinics.
