Its hard to say what, if any, freshman will make an impact in the Beach District...at least at the varsity level. I assume from your post that you may have a son that age? If so, by all means tell us about him. You're handle suggests that you have a son or daughter at Boston College...someone we should look for on the field for the Eagles this year?

At PAHS we have three freshman. One, Zach Smith is starting in LF and our lead off hitter. He's doing a very nice job. Greg Tomchick and Chase Lemaster are on the varsity squad. Tomchick pitched yesterday two innings with 4 K's and no runs. He will see more time on the mound this year and probably be the ace next year. Can anyone say Ben two? Lemaster plays behind a Jr at SS. He will see a lot of time next year. Most importantly, all three are polite good kids with lot's of talent.

Also, Hunter Higgerson and Danny Grauer are alternating between JV and varsity at Hickory.
Is Scotty Hurrell on Landstown's varsity roster?
From what I've seen, Nick is very good, but I'm guessing he starts at SS only when Jared Sivertson pitches correct? I'd find it hard to believe that after 3 years at SS Jared would be moved as a senior

bceaglemom- I can't think of any freshmen that even made the varsity team at Cox...for that matter, I'm not even sure any freshmen start regularly on the JV team. Some good young players no doubt, but its takes exceptional players to move directly from MS to HS varsity

I think it is a VHSL rule, no a private school rule. And, yes, TJ is a talented player.

Correct. Nick rotates between the mound, SS and JV.

Injured (hamstring); re-evaluated April 15th. Not sure if he is actually listed on the roster per-say ( I believe he is), but yes without the injury he would be in the starting lineup and I had him penciled batting at the top of the line-up. He was sure-handed at short this past summer-fall. (allows Lawhorn to stay at 2nd; minimizing chances of any throwing injury) Hurrell was possiblly #3 or #4 on pitching depth chart. Michael Curry and Jeremy Saniford will see considerable playing time this year.
