A few off the top of my head:

Jake Cave, Hampton Christian
Nick Thompson, Western Branch
Zach Smith, Kempsville

Jake is this top of this class. He has transferred to Kecoughtan I believe.

Jake Cave is the premier 2011 left hander, and Nick Thompson is the premier 2011 right hander. Jake's fastball is excellent (89-91), but Nick's off speed and mix of pitches are better. The more interesting question is how high will Jake be drafted in June 2011, and will it tempt him to forego LSU.

Good luck to both (and all the other fine pitchers). Any word on whether Thompson has committed?

Nick has not committed yet. He is still evaluating his options.

My guess is Cave will never see Baton Rouge in 2011.
