So what do you think? The Red Sox hitters are somethng to watch for a moneyball guy like myself. I might be wrong but last night only JD Drew jumped on the first pitch. Even the 2 rookies are patient at the polat and not afraid to hit with two strikes. It is simple really. Keep getting on base and someone will either hit the ball and score you or the pitcher will walk someone with the bases loaded.

So we have Oakland, Toronto and Boston buyng into Moneyball for position players. Any other takers or does no one in the national League ever want to win another world series??

The benefit the Red Sox have is they have money to play Moneyball. They can retain/resign the players who achieve and pursue those on the market.

Right now, The Red Sox have players who know how to play October baseball.

For moneyball, it's about winning the World Series. Red Sox have the players that just get it.

As a Yankee fan, it pains to say it but it is what it is and it looks like Boston's gonna cruise to another title sweep.

However, ace pitchers are very difficult to get thru free agency. Teams that develop within seem to have the best shot at assembling a great pitching staff.

This is where the 2008 Yankees will start seeing their young pitchers come up that are now ready to make an impact.

If they can sign Mike Lowell, Johan Santana, Posada and Rivera, Yanks will be in great shape.

Since Johan is not a FA, he will likely cost them those those young arms. Maybe the Rocket can come back next year too.... Wink
