I would like to ask the HS coaches on here a question regarding "select/travel" action for their players


Do you see an improvement in their confidence and talent after they have played at a level that may be above their normal HS level of baseball ?

As a former coach(I decided that my family needed to eat) the travel guys always had a confidence that never went away. They were generally much calmer in tight situations and the leaders of my teams.

But I usually had to get their attention early in the season, they had a tendency to forget who's the boss and sometimes had trouble focusing on drills that they had mastered years ago.

As for talent, it wasn't always better, but the skill level was usually much higher.
