Ryno, I'm not sure if I totally understand what you want to do. I believe if you edit the "team" in TS, and change a player name, for example, it would change for the games that player was in. If you have different seasons, you would need to do it for each team file.
If I'm misunderstanding what you need to do, feel free to contact me, pm, etc. I have been using TS for years and I do find their support fairly frustrating.

I find TurboStats to very frustrating as well and tech support almost useless. RealDan do you know of an instruction book (or something like that) out there that is much more simpler than what comes with it? Basically I am looking for a TurboStats for Dummies type book. I mess ours up all the time because I am stupid when it comes to using computer stuff.

Unfortunately I'm not aware of anything other than their manual, maybe I should write one! :-) Personally, I've been using it for years so don't have too much trouble, or have already stumbled through most things.
What frustrates me is their pda app, ScoreKeeper. It's pretty nice but definitely has a few bugs, both in the palm software itself and in the TurboStats import.
I've emailed several times with questions and or reports of bugs and never even get a response. There are 2 other palm apps that I believe are better but neither imports directly into TS and I have my son's entire career in TS, so I keep using TS+ScoreKeeper.
I know one of the other apps has a users forum where you can discuss features, bugs, etc. - pretty nice, wish TS would do that.
Don't know when I'll get motivated enough to write the Dummies book, but I can probably answer most questions if anyone has any.

That is awesome and thanks for doing something like this. I am going to start writing down the problems that I have had with it. Please keep us informed on the status of this.

Ryno, If I understand correctly, you're viewing YOUR team in TurboScout, picking one of your pitchers, for example, and then wanting to view stats against opponent players, which is where this A. Smith shows up as 2 different players. Is that right?
Unfortunately, if that is the scenario, I believe the only way you can correct it is to go back and edit the games ON THE PDA, change the names for the opponents in the problem games, then re-import the games into TurboStats. This should fix the problem. If you no longer have the games on a pda, you're probably screwed in this case.
My son's HS made an effort this season to have all 3 teams, Varsity, JV, Freshmen score games with ScoreKeeper and I ran into numerous problems with rosters, game names, etc. One of the things I'm putting together is a tip sheet on how to set things up, rosters preloaded on pda's, naming conventions for teams, games, etc. that REALLY help keep things straight and make it much easier to coordinate. If you can get everyone involved to follow them, it should all go very smoothly.

One other idea, depending on how important it is, if you can't go back and edit the pda games and reimport - you could look in your palm backup directory, it should still contain the palm games, they'll have a file extension of .pdb. These are palm database files. I found an app that says it will allow you to actually edit these files. I have NOT tried it and if one is not computer savvy, might not want to try, but if it were important enough, it might be an option. TurbStats website tells how to reimport games from the backup directory (I've seen it somewhere). The app I found is at http://www.pdconverterpro.com. If I have time this weekend I'll download a trial and play with it a bit. dan

I messed up the link for the pdb editor - it should be http://www.pdbconverterpro.com - I downloaded the trial this weekend and I had no luck with it. It would indeed open a scorekeeper game file but it appeared to be mostly empty and what was there must be encrypted. didn't spend a lot of time with it, but initial observation is that route is a dead end. dan
