Do any of you use the QB wistband for signals? What about offensive signals?

We used them this past year (varsity hs level) because the players wanted to try it......It worked well enough that we will use them again this year.

I am talking about using the QB Wrist Coach wristband to signal to our runners and hitters.

Many teams use them to signal pitches to the catcher.

its an awesome tool for calling pitches definately use it.

The only value I see in these things is that only a catcher wears one. Nobody else would need one.

Excuse my neanthedral thinking here. For years I had signals I used from the third base box. Indicator take off put on etc etc. worked fine. kept it simple. is the reason for the wrist bands today because the players cant handle the traditional way?

Calling pitches? Watching a liitle league game i see the catcher looking in the dugout and the coach is giving all these signals for a pitch. How about a signal for strike one?

My kids are 16. We only use it on specific hitters and situations. They call 95% of their own pitches because I want them to learn the game. We have used the wristband for a couple of years now.

As for using it on offense, more colleges are starting to do this now. I am entertaining it because most of my kids play with different teams during the week and play for me on the weekends. This past summer we missed at least 3-4 signals per game. To me, this is unacceptable. And...yes...I have super easy signals.

So, I am guessing that none of you have any experience with this? After talking to a couple of college coaches this weekend, they swear by the wristband for offense. They have significantly reduced their number of missed signals.

I saw a team of 12Us use the wristbands on offense a few weeks ago. It was interesting to see for the first time.

The runners on base almost got picked 3 times because they were taking their leads while looking at the wristbands. On the fourth one, the runner got picked at 2nd base.

After that they kind of figured it out and looked at the wristbands before leaving the base for the lead.

we used them for calling pitches. worked well. a great deal faster than signals

My sons college pitching coach swears by them. They do have some hand signals in case its a night game and they are having trouble seeing them. I have never used them but it seems everyone that does loves them.

Our offensive cards are set up pretty simple.
1. It is a 6X6 grid numbered 0-5 (that way they can be signaled with one hand.

2. The horizontal rows are colored 6 different colors. We do this so we can call a series of numbers or numbers and a color and it is easier to read at a glance.

3. Fill the 36 boxes with whatever you like.

We change the cards every few games....want to have a little fun...we dropped one of our old cards in front of the opp. dugout, and for two innings they were calling their defense based on the old card. We got a kick out of watching them try to figure out our system based on the old card.
