I am a new coach and I would like to put on a baseball camp for the younger kids in the community. Do any of you have any suggestions as to how to conduct this camp and how much I should charge? I am planning to conduct this camp over 3 or 4 days. Thank you for your help.

Coach, are you using a high school facility? Do you have a specific number of kids you want? How much help do you have? Are you doing this a fund raiser for your school team? I don't know the answers to all of these questions but do have some camp stuff that might help. Send me a pm with your email address and I'll email a couple of things.

Years ago I ran a clinic at my school for younger players. One thing is make sure you take all the precautions for safety (helmets rules for swinging bats procedures when warming up etc etc.) especially spending the first day putting the kids in groups not so much by age but by ability.

CoachBT9- I, too, have done these camps for many years. Send me a PM and I'll help with whatever I can. Good for you for trying to help the younger kids - the future of every program starts with the kids way too young to be IN the program!
