How worth while does everyone feel it is to have paid coaches for a 16U team? Currently we have dads coaching but was thinking of changing for Fall and next spring. Does any have comments or experience to share?

Depends. How good are the "dads"? How good is the paid coach? How much money do you have? Will he be going to a reputable established team or a new one. . Is it part of the HS program? Too many variables to give a good answer.

My son has been on four travel ball teams. Two really wanted him just to pitch and were willing to have him and did not charge us for him to play. One team did not charge any player and only one team charge more than any other team I had every heard of and they had paid coaches from a college. That was the biggest mistake I've made on behalf of my son and his sport. Yes the team had been in place for over seven years, now my advice is check with other members. Talk with parents and players from past years to see how much it help there son. Because it can cost you alot, make your son worse and not ensure him anything more for the future. The free teams taught him more or should I say the offered him more in the way of coaching.
