In the latest SI there is a great article about Joe Maddon. In it it talks about Maddon's days as a minor league coach with the Angels and how made up stats for the players that he deemed important but did not show up in the box scores. Listed were "jugs runs" (runs that go for the other team's jugular and pad a small late-inning lead to put a game out of reach. Also listed were runners go 1st to 3rd, 2 out RBI's and hitters who hustle to beat out the back end of a potential double-play. To Maddon they were a motivational tool and a way to get players to by into a old school philosophy.

If you were going to invent your own stat under these same guidelines what would your stat be and why?
