Picture of defense wins championships
Posted
hey i was just wondering in regards to a weight lifting program are there any exercises catchers particualry should avoid and are there any that are especially essential. even though i have my workout program that i have gone through a year now, i just was curious if there were anything other particular exercises that could take my game to an even higher level for next year.

thanks

I dunno lots about lifting, but I would think that core exercises and leg muscles, and leg stretching would do wonders for catchers. Wrist exercises I would think would help with throwing and with framing and catching. Just my theory, but let someone with knowledge tell you for sure.

Dynamic hip and shoulder flexibility as well as a great deal of strength endurance should be the foundation of a catcher's training program.
