Stole this idea from a special I saw on Pudge. Similar to BFS dot drill, if you are familiar with it. On the concrete of our fieldhouse/workout area we painted sets of four pairs of footprints. The first pair represents the catcher's feet in the receiving position, the next represent a jump spin/pickoff to first, the next a jump/pivot to second, and the last represents a step-behind throw to third. The catcher starts with his feet on the receiving position footprints and on "go" as quickly as possible executes the footwork three times to each base (jump/pivot back to receiving x3). We time the exercise from go until his feet return to the receiving position after three reps to each base. We record times and keep records.

Our kids do something close to this as well. We use 9 squares that look like a tic-tac-toe board. When they work their throwing and footwork drills, they focus on getting their feet into the correct squares for that throw.
