I've always wanted to be a catcher but yet, I'm bat blind.

Does this go away with repetition or will you always have this...

it just takes practice

I think what you are doing is blinking when the batter swings.

Something that may help you would be to blink really hard before the pitcher delivers the ball so that your eyes are fresh for the pitch.

Try not to worry about what the batter is doing. Just go for the ball with soft hands.

Ok, so about the blinking- everyone blinks. Everytime I watch TV, they zoom in on a slow replay and while everyone else looks at the batter, I, a catcher, looks at the catcher. I don't remember seeing a single catcher not blink. Look out for it- its something I noticed...
