What should be the pop time of a catcher looking to play D-1 baseball in the CAA. And any other tools he should possess.

2.0-2.1 is the benchmark. If you're much higher than that then hitting should be a definate strength in your game.

Yeah, I'm a 1.9, 2.0, and a 1.8 when my arm's not sore. So from that I'm trying to figure out how I oughta be hitting at what my 60 time should be.

I'm not sure I understand the question.

Why the big range in pop times? Two tenths of a second is a huge variation. Have you had your pop time officially measured? Or are you guessing?

If you want to play in college, learn to hit. Every catcher has a 2.0-ish pop time. The ones that play hit .325+ against great pitching.

I have been measured officially, when my arm was sore and when it wasn't. 1.8 and 1.9 when I was feeling fine, 2.0 when my shoulder was feeling uncomfortable.

What kind of time in the 60 are D-1 schools looking for in a catcher?

It will vary depending upon how well the catcher hits. Seriously. The better a catcher hits the better his opportunity to play and/or move on to the next level...
