Batter facing an off speed, curve ball pitcher. batter gets way to front of box but catcher keeps his normal distance from home plate. Pitches that looked like strikes were ruled balls.

When a hitter is set up in front of bsse, should the catcher move up the bstter

of course, you should be as far up to the hitter as possible at all times in my opinion

The catcher shouldn't move too far up. It doesn't matter where the batter is, if it crosses the PLATE as a strike, then it should be a strike. Not where it crosses the batter.

It doesn't matter where the pitch is, it's only a strike if the umpire calls it so.

I agree with bakstop007 ... the catcher should be positioned as close to the batter as possible without interfering with the swing.
