I use the hockey one, but apprently it may be more prone to cuncussions. I was wondering if anyone has any input on the issue- What do D1 coaches think? Most pros use old style, but there is a handful that use hockey style.
Aside for safety reasons, what are other differences?
Thanks.

My son has always wanted to try the two piece helmet but Ga. high school rules mandate that catchers use the hockey style helmet. He doesn't have any choice in the matter.

For those who use the traditional skull cap and seperate mask- is there a difference in skull caps or are they the same.
Theres a Rawlings for $25 and an All Star for $15. This is really a safety factor so obviously the extra money is worth it- but what are the differences, if any at all?
Thanks
