I was wondering if any of you guys on here know how to get the smell out of your chest protectors. I mean I wash mine pretty regularly with soap and water but it still smells. I use it almost everyday and it is too expensive to buy a new one every year. I have an All-Star CP28PRO. Any ideas or methods you guys have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Regular cleaning is important as well as spraying it with a product such as Fabreeze...or lysol.....

But to that end, make sure you are letting your CP dry out after use....The worst thing you can do is stick it damp into your bag and let it stay there until its next use....

Odor usually comes from mildew....and a damp CP in a hot bag is a breeding ground for mildew....take your CP and hang it up where it can dry in the air....continue washing it...some actually can be tossed into a washing machine....and spray it liberally with disinfectant.....

Hope this helps....

the best thing you can do is let it completely dry out after a wash..... but as a catcher i know that our gear has those days.... just let it completely dry out and for one practice or game... just for a span of two days dont use it and see what happens.... mine usually come and go
