My son is having some trouble with making a clean transfer of ball from glove on low pitches. Any suggestions, Thanks.

I guess try and stay down with the ball longer- don't come up to soon.

Baseball, it is said, is only a game. True.
And the Grand Canyon is just a hole in Arizona.

Where does the transfer break down?

I'm no expert but my son caught for many years and most of the time on low pitches the throwing hand breaks away from the glove then you are reaching down to find the ball. If you get separation, move the glove to the throwing hand and at least that puts you back into the throwing position. Of course he should be working on both hands working as one unit on the low pitches and turning the glove into the hand not reaching into the glove for the ball.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery ...today is a gift - don't waste it.

Kevin- this is a very common problem with younger players. Let me ask a simple question first, does this typically happen when he receives the ball palm down or palm up? Does it typically happen with pitches low in the strike zone or down out of the zone?

Let me know.

down and out of zone. I ask him how he catches it when it's that low, palm up or just getting glove in regular position. He says he doesn't catch it palm up when low. Appreciate the help!
