I wear one on my right shoulder as well. I wish my chest protector allowed me to wear one on the left as well, but it doesn't. I don't think it hinders the throwing motion and if it does, then very little. Part of that could be the arm strength that I have defeats its resistance, I don't know. The first couple times I wore one, I did notice it, but now I don't.

I have one on my right as well, I have an All-Star chest protector. I don't think it hinders my thrwoing motion at all. The only way I could see it doing that is if you have it velcro-ed too close to your neck to the point that it doesn't break forward when you throw. I don't have a problem with it when I throw. -Kevin

I never used to use it, or the extra toe pads- until once a foul tip off my toe. Between innings, on came those toe pads. They are still on. I didnt use the shoulder flap because it was annoying when I threw. Until I got foul tipped there, and I said, if I can save the pain- why not....
