I know that many parts of the country are going through the same horrible heat wave as where I live. I just wanted to remind everyone to check on those folks that might be effected by the heat. Heat kills more people than tornadoes, hurricanes, and earthquakes combined every year.

The ones most at risk are the elderly, those that live in cities, those without air conditioning, and those that live up several floors in apartment buildings. It's pretty easy for us to make sure people have fans, plenty of water, and get out to cooler places if possible.
