This is absolutely great ! ! ! And you know that all those little guys out there see that image in their mirrors, too. I remember when our son was very little ... 3 or 4 ... he used to put on the catcher's gear that his baby sitter's son had.
I haven't seen any of the other HSBBW catchers so I can't speak beyond my experience but the grown up version sure looks like luvbb's son from Penn State ...

Orlando, That is a precious picture!! Would make a wonderful gift for any mom of a catcher!!
I've been fortunate to see Fungo, Luvbb, Tasmit, 03Parent, JohnLex's sons all catch... my favorite position on the field. Was probably son's too, but he catches with the wrong hand.

I've e-mailed the artist, and will let you all know when I get an answer. With apologies to Mr. Otterstad, I've already printed a small copy, matted and framed it; it brought tears to my eyes.
He's also recently done a painting of Babe Ruth. He took the famous photo of Babe surrounded by children, and recreated the photo substituting Hall of Famers as children and teenagers for the children in the original photo. It took him 7 years of research, but Otterstad collected childhood pictures of as many Hall of Famers as he could. There are 56 Hall of Famers surrounding Ruth.
They also have a free catalog ... I requested one.
By the way, doesn't the big kid in the mirror remind you of your Joe?

Sniffle, sniffle--my babies are growing up so fast. Also makes me think that when Son #3 gets old enough, maybe he will be a catcher too! He tries so hard to be like his brothers!

I love it! I have a 3 year old and a Highschool Senior Catcher. Now I know what my 3 year is seeing and feeling when he talks about catching some day!!! How sweet.
