Why are gentlemen allowed in our forum BUT we are asked to stay our of the mens

Yes! I too have been wondering this. I was going to start a thread, but got side-tracked. You beat me to it! The "players" and "men" sections are only for them. We're told to stay out, but men are "warned" about entering OUR place!? What's with that? How do we change the sub-heading, or whatever it's called? I know folks are always going to lurk about, but the message that it's not cool on their side, but winked at on ours is unfair. JMO

njbb - I think there was a male poster who didn't want women in the men's forum. Rather silly IMO. Occasionally there's something funny in the men's forum that I might comment on, but I've just stayed out due to the "Do Not Disturb" on the door. I can live with it. I've noticed a few women occasionally go ahead and post in there and I say good for them.

The women's forum gives females a place where they can share and feel more comfortable, especially if it's not baseball related. I personally welcome the guys to pop in here on occasion. I find the ones that do so are your more friendly posters and usually have something thought provoking, funny or kind to share. I say we remain the higher species here and leave our room open for all those that would like to peek in.

njbb - you ask a good question. When that forum first opened, it had the same warning as the ladies forum. Right away, it turned out to be much more adult oriented (adult jokes, off color humor) and there were some complaints. Some of the men were offended they were being told how to run their personal space so the admonition to keep out was put there.

Look, if it were up to me, we would not have a men's forum. 99.9% of it is used for jokes and we already had a joke forum with unusually unusual. I think there are valid reasons for the ladies forum and the players forum as lafmom explains. Frankly, there is no space that is off limits to a member on the hsbbweb. If you feel like posting in the men's forum - let'em have it

On rare occasion, VERY rare occasion, I will venture in to the "locker room". But I ALWAYS knock first--and apologize sometimes... I'm usually welcomed... It IS kind of fun--kind of like being in the teacher's lounge when I was a student---knowing I didn't belong there, but it was fun when I was.....

Playbaseball - Isn't that teacher's lounge memory the strangest thing! I can remember on the very rare occasion I was able to step foot in one. It was as though you were entering sacred ground or something... you truly felt in awe!

Gotwood - You're another one that I always welcome seeing here. Not sure your friends will enjoy it here though. They're so attractive that the rest of us gals might feel jealous or inferior!
