why can't I add an image to my posts? I find a gif, right click properties, copy url, click image in the post a topic window, paste. It just shows an X?

Are you talking about an image from a "smiley" site?

Doesn't sound like you're clicking the picture icon at the top first. Do that and THEN paste your image url. It should then show up. You can't just paste it into the body of your message.

Yes, I'm talking about clip art from websites (not specifically smiley sites) I am clicking the picture icon and then pasting the url in the dropdown. Have to keep trying. Thanks

Is the image a gif or a jpeg. It would say at the end of the url. If it is not, then it probably won't work.

First you need to go to the picture you want to paste and right click on it, then choose properties and find where it says address:URL, highlight and copy completely, including the http://www part and the ending where it says either .jpg, ;gif or .pmg.

Then come here, place your cursor where you want the picture to be and click on the little picture icon above on the options bar (2nd from right), then where the cursor is blinking paste what you copied and click okay..

You will see some script, finish your post and hit post now and it should show up.. Here is the HS logo got the month using those directions, is this what you want to do?

are there some clipart sites that do not allow this? That is exactly what I did and still nothing?

There is HTML code that can hide the properties or not allow the code to be copies but its kinda rare that I have seen. Send me a PM with a site address and let me try
