Ok Moms- I am starting to miss my baseball mom friends, & getting out of the house, I have done 75% of the tasks that I put off until baseball is over, I have started christmas shopping and baking. I have surfed this site until I have almost reached stalker status.

I have also started counting down the days until baseball starts again.

Son is still pitching and working out, basketball tryouts are this week.

BUT MOMS What else do you do during the off season?
I need a cure for mind numbing boredom.

Lefty 34,

My son is playing local JC so we have been lucky enough to see almost all his games.
But in preparation for him leaving eventually and he is the last one, I have returned to school for my bachelors. I have 3 semesters to complete it and have almost finished one.
My husband and I have been actually catching up with some old friends and dating a little so we can prepare for empty nest. Its been fun also.

We have been doing the football thing. Son's team was named District Champs, 2 years running. They will be playing their fist state playoff game Friday night. We had a wonderful homecoming and senior week. Of course I want them to continue to do well, but honestly, I cannot wait until baseball season. I am just praying for no serious injuries, he has been playing on a sprained ankle for most of the season. Once football is over he will have to lay off of it for a good while so it can heal. I think I need to start Christmas shopping soon (LOL)

Ok, off season for me has consisted of a lot of overtime. Two kids in college this year + three next year = Mo2C working all the time. I hate to complain about working too much when the economy is so bad and there are people out there really needing jobs. I am lucky that I have the opportunity to work extra.

AND! now that the weather is getting colder and the leaves are fallen, Mo2C is getting Christmas Shopping-itis. Step-dad and Little Brother of 2 are going to the Chiefs game on Sunday (tickets are waaaaayyyyyy cheap this year!!)and I think I'm going to KC with them to shop during the game.

I miss baseball season, all of our baseball family, and the sun. Smile

I have been cleaning my house and cleaning out closets and doing all of the things that don't get done around here from March - July. I'm ready to get back outside. I'd rather throw BP and play catch with my kids than dust and do laundry any day.

mom of 2 catchers - I'm gonna be in the job market - where do you work?? I am part of that A.G. Edwards/Wachovia/Wells Fargo mess! I've been here 24 years and my last day is Feb. 27th. Oh well, I can make all the games this spring!HAHAH!!!

Closet cleaning - I'm doing the same. Also working on building my Mary Kay business so all I have to do is keep my customers supplied during baseball - they all know I live at the ballfield when not at home. Fortunately, a lot of my customers are there too!!

FirstTimer - I know a lot of people from here in VA caught up in the same mess you are in. I just put in papers to substitute teach - that works well around baseball too. I don't know about your area but our school system always needs subs.
