Tonight was my turn to feed the team. High school varsity; there are 20 of them. I've done ladies brunches, teas, christmas luncheons, etc.... Never fed 20 growing, grown, bottomless pits before.
I thought this would be an excellent resource to document what works for this type of event.
I'll get back with everyone after Friday night's game and let you know how it went at my house.
In the mean time, please tell me of your experiences.

The ones that I've had success with are spaghetti and meatballs, tacos or the old Wisconsin staple tailgating hamburgers and brats. Tomorrow night I'm in charge of a spaghetti dinner kickoff for the team and families. We're feeding about 120 - luckily at a local church who lets us use their kitchen and dining room. I have enlisted lots of help but must admit I'll be glad when it's over!

You're in DFW... How about Dickeys & Ricks Barbeque? Sonny Bryan & Colters are good, too. Chopped Beef, 10-12 lbs. Sausage, sliced, 5-7lbs. Potato Salad, one of the large trays Baked Beans, large tray
Or, maybe Sams has a better deal, cost wise. Certainly have better Apple Pie!!
I have had a number of dinners for both football and baseball. The kids love it. The biggest request from them is Beef-K-Bobs and Chicken-K-Bobs. Most kids don't like the veggies so I just put the marinated meat on the skewers and bbq. Then I make garlic bread (buy lots of it). Usually a fruit salad and desert of some sort. Brownies are big. Another easy thing is lasagna. There is nothing more rewarding though than to see happy teenage boys.

I just did a Baked Ziti dinner for our Church High School Boys group. Made up a big batch and heated it in my big electric roaster. Bought bags of salad, garlic bread and brownies. In the past I've done lasagna, burgers & dogs. Ziti was the easiest and went over great.

Did this for cross country dinner at our house, and will for baseball team: I had all the kids put their names in a baseball helmet and throughout the night, pulled names for corny prizes! Baseball gum, sunflower seeds, school key chains, baseball car magnet, etc. My son said "how corny, but the boys loved it and they laughed at "corny mom"....
