Brian is one of AJ's former college teammates who lost his dad to metastatic bone cancer (diagnosed in late January and died in May)during his freshman year in college (2000-2001) and who just lost his wonderful mom Sharon on the 20th of March ... also to cancer that started during his senior season (2004). We just learned of her death today, and I pray that she did not suffer towards the end. Just saw her before the holidays while running errands (they live less than 1/2 mile from us) as she was returning from a radiation treatment. She looked wonderful and I was shocked to learn of her passing.
Brian is 26 years old and an only child so he is now truly on his own. His mom came from a large family and one of his aunts was at most of our games, traveled to the away games as well, and I am sure they will be a comfort to each other. But my heart hurts for Brian as he deals with the loss of both of his parents in the past few years. Please remember him in your prayers.
