Its pouring buckets here today in Kansas. Our double header game for this afternoon got cancelled so I found myself brewing with more time on my hands than usual.

I have a highschool senior son who has a birthday coming up during the same week of our regional games, school finals, and graduation. Figured it would be best if I started planning now. ( eek! )
Got the idea to make him a baseball themed birthday cake this year,..and am going to put a teeny tiny graduation hat on the SS. ( squeal )

Sooo,...decided to Google " baseball cakes " for some highly needed inspiration. Expected to find the typical cake like this:


But I was shocked at some of the ones I found. They are pretty fun! Had to share!

Now really, you are selling your talents short. I think you should do something along the lines of this cake, but use your son's school and baseball field instead of Wrigley ...



This was one of the cakes that was made on Food Channel's Ace of Cakes ... even the view of the inside of the stadium is amazing.
