Our season starts February 14th. Parents and supporters have been working really hard on our “new” field. Same piece of ground but everything was torn down to rebuild again. The field is looking great; don’t know if we will make it for opening day, it will be close. Don’t know if we will have enough money, it will be close, everything is so expensive, but we will find a way to make it. Son is a senior, so I am thrilled that he will have a nice field to play on. Brick walls are up from dugout to dugout, then past the dugout about half way to the outfield fence. First dugout is complete, second dugout should be finished by next week. Nets will be put up this weekend, benches are ordered, and gates are being made. I will post pictures once the work is complete. Can you tell I am a little excited? We have always been the red haired step children of the parish so it will be nice to have something decent for a change. Now if only we could have lights, a concession stand and a bathroom.

very exciting! We have pretty nice dugouts, a functioning bathroom, a tiny concession stand, and lights. We also have a dirt infield which has a ton of rocks in it. The high school field is technically part of a city park and we have recently passed a sales tax increase specifically for parks with hopes to remodel the swimming pool (first priority) and to improve the ball fields. I hope they get to work on it soon, nothing seems to happen fast around here.

I know what you mean about nothing seems to happen fast. We have been waiting for promised money for 2 1/2 years. Still waiting.....waiting.....waiting

hmmmm, maybe we could use your lined trash drum as a bathroom. We have to run to the gym and all the way through the gym (dodging basketballs), better not wait until the last minute.

Dang! Now the only way us guys have any hope of staying ahead of you gals is for us to take yellow snow penmanship classes...you warm weather southern boys may unfortunately be out of luck!

I think I will take my chances on the gym, but thanks anyway (I can't believe they actually sell that). If I am that desperate, I will find a bush and squat.
