My son and I watched Nick pitch last night as I told him of DelDad's presence on the HSBBWEB. My prayers go out to the Adenhart family.

I am just devastated by this horrble news. To Deldad and his wife Janet, I am so sorry. I can't imagine the pain of losing a child.

I hope in some small way the good folks of this board can be of comfort to them.

Anatomy of a GOOD high school parent:

The five tools-

1. A mouth that only utters positive things about the team.

2. A tongue that refuses to wag.

3. Eyes that are not covered with rose colored lenses

4. Hands that fit a rake.

5. A mind that has the capability of seeing the BIG PICTURE.

I like to think there is a bigger plan for all of us however at times like this all I can do is ask WHY?

I hope and pray the Adenhart family can find answers to help them deal with their tragic loss. May Nick rest in peace.

Deldad my heart aches for you.

This is just so very, very sad.

Just the other day a freshman at USC was killed by a hit and run driver and now more senseless deaths in the same horrific fashion.

My deepest sympathies. There just really are no words but to take some comfort in the fact that this young man had accomplished so much and had realized his dream. Frown

May he rest in peace.

Last summer I sat with Nick's Mom and Uncle and watched him pitch a AAA game in Portland. I've never met Deldad in person, but I have talked with him on the phone and chatted with him in the chat room many times.

They are wonderful people. No one deserves this, but especially not them.

I just saw the news report and headed straight to the HSBBW. I'm shocked and saddened as others have expressed. Deldad, Janet, all family members and friends my heartfelt prayers and deepest sympathy. Words are inadequate at this time but may the Holy Spirit comfort you during this difficult time.

Words can not express how I feel right now. I got to know Deldad very well. He is a tremendous man. My heart is broken for him and his family. Quite honestly I am sick over it. Everyone please pray for Deldad and his family. Pray that God will intervene and give them strength.

If anyone hears of a fund/charity or a way to send flowers, please post.

My wife and I are sick to our stomach. Want to do something to help provide the teeniest of comfort if possible.

As TPM posted, Nick's father is a wonderful man...very humble. He helped me immensely with helpful and encouraging words when our son was injured. I want to reach back if its possible.

My prayers continue.

This is heartbreaking:
quote:
Adenhart is survived by his father Jim and mother Janet. His family released the following statement:

"Nick's family expresses sincere gratitude for all the help the Angels have provided. He lived his dream and was blessed to be part of an organization comprised of such warm, caring, and compassionate people. The Angels were his extended family. Thanks to all of Nick's loyal supporters and fans throughout his career. He will always be in everyone's hearts forever."

Overcome
