Any input on the state of this program?

Head Coach and Assistant from California, as well as several of the new players.

They have struggled lately.

very good program. lots of history and big leaguer's to their credit. one recent kid is on the brewers or the indians,,,can't remember but he is a pitcher of significat capabilities. This program has been to the college world series before. AGAIN, can't go wrong with this program.

Appreciate the reply, but my Son already signed elsewhere.
Interesting, though about Indiana State.

They were recruiting him pretty hard, called once a week, wanted him to come for an official visit etc. The Asst Coach had seen him play a couple of times. All of a sudden, no contact from Asst Coach, so we assumed they signed their guys, or lost interest.

While we were in Jupiter, the Head Coach saw my Son play, and came up and asked if he had committed. He had not. He took my Son's name and when we got back, the Asst Coach called again and wanted to make a "really good" offer. By then, my Son had already committed to a couple of other visits and was ready to make his decision.

After my Son gave his verbal committment, we sent out emails to the other 5 or 6 schools that had made offers, including Indiana State.
They were the only school who did not reply with a congratulatory note?

Meggs is a pretty good coach. They have a tough schedule being in the MVC ... not much of a chance to win that conference (Wichita State, Creighton, Evansville - before the last coach destroyed the program though the new coach will lead them back).

Agreed!

Don't forget, Missouri State is in that conference as well!

Hopefully, Wes Carroll will revive Evansville to the Brownlee-era days!

just wondering what coaches are looking for these days at the D1's.

gitnby ... Wes Carroll is a fantastic coach and an even better guy. He should be able to turn the program around quick enough. He has what it takes and he is a young guy that can relate to these young men. Should be good to watch.

If Coach Carroll can turn it around, I sure hope my son plays a part in it. Go #14

I am going to attend a game at UE at the end of this month to watch them face off against Butler University. We host tournaments at both locations so it should be quite the game to watch for us. Smile

Just so all of you know, I believe that as of today, Indiana State owns the best record in D1 baseball in the state of Indiana. Oh and by the way, smoked the Hoosiers along the way.

Indiana State is on-fire with the new coaching staff and AD. they have the best interest of the university in mind when it comes to baseball. also, building a new 1.5 million dollar stadium doesn't hurt either.
