I think LaPorte wins the South Bend Sectional and I look for Elk Memorial to face Penn for the championship of the Elkhart Sectional. I'll go out on a limb here and pick Penn to win.

I saw this weeks 4a polls, Elk Memorial is #1, Penn is #5 and LaPorte is #7. Penn won the NIC followed by SB Clay. Penn has a great team, excellant pitching and hitting. Stines and Forray can pitch. Strefing, Spietals, and Iams can hit. Clay has good power, great team chemistry, but not enough pitching to win the NIC. They will probably start Zabrosky or Sobol against Riley in the SB sectional. Riley had a great shot at the NIC race but they lost 4 starters mid year. Biskupski and Wray are great baseball talents, they deserved better senior seasons. Biskupski is a helleva pitcher! He's my choice for NIC MVP. He pitched extremely well. I saw him pitch three times this year. He was one hit away from a perfect game against St. Joe, won 6-0. The game against SB Washington, 11k's, no walks,4 hits and lost 1-0 in 8 innings. Lastly, the Penn game where Riley lost 2-1, 6 k's, no walks, 4 hits. Great defensive player, he has played SS,3rd,1st, and OF. Batting around 350 for the year. My guess is he will not get MVP because of Riley's record... It's either Clay or LaPorte in the SB Sectional, Clay beat LaPorte earlier in the season. Penn vs. Elk Memorial for the championship of the Elkhart Sectional... that game will be worth the price of admission. Memorial has Phillips on the mound (11-0 for the year) and (Purdue bound) Eric Nielsen behind the plate. He has a great arm and a good bat. I'm picking Penn though, to much depth. Good luck to everyone. Have a great post-season!!!

I saw Biskupski from Riley play in a losing cause to Elk Memorial at Bethel. He didn't pitch, great glove and for a kid his size, he hit one of the farest HR's I've seen in high school ball. He has to be pretty strong to hit a ball that far! He will probably not get NIC MVP because of his pitching W/L record and Riley's season record... but he definitely can play!
