There is a showcase in Indiana at Hoosier Diamonds in Oct 2005. Could anyone shed any light on how well attended and beneficial it is?

Well, it should be well attended. Hoosier Diamond made some changes this year. For this fall ball season they offered two different high school varsity leagues. The top league is known as the high school select league and consists predominately of varsity ball players from all over Indiana. As part of their fee to play in this league they were automatically eligible to be in the showcase. Most players are juniors and seniors although there are some sophmores. 14 teams of 15 players each. Can't say they'll all be there though. As a parent and one of the volunteer coaches for this league its tough for me to give you a yea or nay on the talent. I've seen some 'A' players and even more 'B' players but make no mistake I can't pretend to know what college coaches look for. However you never know there's always the possibility of that 'diamond in the rough', or maybe a sophmore worth keeping an eye on.
