clearly, the Hoosier Crossroads Conference is the best not only in indiana, but possibly the midwest, with teams like brownsburg, the 12th ranked team in the coutnry, and mccutcheon 10 ranked in state, hamilton southeastern 6th in state, and noblesville 8th in state, and mccuctchoen 10th in the state, plus they have harrison and lafayette jefferson two very good unranked teams, and when avon pitchers can actually throw a strike, theyre pretty competitive too, so without a doubt, the HCC is the best conference in indiana

By far, the HCC is the best baseball you are likely to see throughout this state. With over half of the Conference receiving votes, if not being in the top ten, at one time or another, there is no argument against them. I have only been in the Harrison program one year, and experiencing the competitive nature at the JV level is incredible, i can only imagine wut it is like at the Varsity level, when on any given week you can go up against Josh Lindbloom (Har), Heath Riley (Jeff), Beves (Jeff), or Brandon Knowlings(McC). The state tournament will be where these teams reap the rewards of playing against the best baseball that Indiana can offer. Along with the tough conference schedule, teams like Harrison, Jeff, and McC, are playing ranked opponents like Chesterton, West Lafayette (3A #5), Central Catholic (1A #2), and Terre Haute North, and defending State Champions Lake Central. The true test of the level of play in the HCC is when a local tournament is having teams like Chesterton, THN, and L. Central wanting to compete against these top teams. June will be where the HCC reaps the rewards of the grueling schedule

Hoosier Crossroads Conference, without a doubt-Its no coincidence theres been at least 1 team from the conference in the state finals for at least 3 years- 1 year McCutehon and Brownsburg both went. BBurg is #1 in the state top 10 in nation, HSE was #3 until BBurg swept them, Zionsville has played everyone tough, even Brownsburg, Harrison has the best pitcher in the state, Noblesville was a preseason top 10 and now is at the bottom of the conference, westfield has a very good non-conference record, mccutcheon is always tough, and avon is sturggling some but has played well out of conference. ANd yes the JV is very tough also-I pitch varsity for Westfield and had some very solid non-conference outings with an ERA under 1, then went to JV after returning from illness and got hammered by the HSE JV team for 13 runs in 3 innings

Evansville Sectional is always very competitive. All the teams play in the SIAC conference. What ever team puts it all together can make a run to the state. Last year both Evansville North (4A) and Evansville Memorial (3A) came from the SIAC and made it to the state finals. That is the beauty of baseball in this part of the state. It is very competitive with a lot of very good players. It is too bad that the teams and players don't seem to get the type of recognition schools closer to Indianapolis do. The SIAC will be very competitive again this year and will come down to pitching. Most teams have at least one very good pitcher returning that can dominate on any given night. It will come down to the team that can develop their team and pitching staff. On paper some teams look better than others but it is too early to crown a team to beat when the first game hasn’t even been played yet. Last year no one gave Evansville North a chance. The only certainty is that whoever comes out of Evansville Sectional will have played a tough schedule and will be battle tested.
