In my opinion Laporte is up there. Dont get me wrong they are a great program and probably will be in the future but they were ranked third even after some defeats from some none ranked teams.

I saw LaPorte vs. Penn. The first game of the year for both teams. LaPorte won and at that time they were both pretty equal in all phases of the game. SB Clay beat LaPorte, Mishawaka Marian beat Penn, and Penn beat SB Clay. Now, I think Penn is the better team. They will probably face each other in the SB "Regional" if Penn beats Elk Memorial and LaPorte gets through the SB Sectional.

Penn vs. Elk Memorial would be a great game, I hope they meet in the ELK Sectional. EM has good pitching but not real deep with the bats. Penn has depth on the mound and at the plate. LaPorte should win the South Bend Sectional, but all the other NIC teams in that sectional beat up on each other all year long. You never know what might happen. Any team there could win it.

overrated-hmm-how about New Palestine-a very solid team-but without Clark on the mound-they are very beatable for a #1

Let's see New Pal's record without Clark pitching is 16-2 with wins against Carmel(2), Kokomo(2), LN, New Castle (#9 in 3A). And one of the 2 losses was to Brownsburg where our #3 pitcher held them to 4 runs thru 5 innings. Struck Lynn out twice.
