How is 4.43 Home to First time for a 16 year old? I know its not blazing speed, but is it acceptable to get to the next level? He is playing Varsity, but we are always looking down the road.

I know that this is running, not necessarily hitting...but it is running directly after hitting and I respect you guys opinion so I am asking the question here.

For a player your son's size, that's very good.
He is primarily a 3rd Baseman, correct? He will probably get a little faster as well since he is so young. EG over at Vanguard. Didn't think I forgot did ya' ? How is he doing?

A position player doesn't necessarily have to be fast but it helps in most positions other than corners and catching Smile It could help there too at times. HSSBW has a section on main page on scouting which display scale used by Major League Scouting Bureau that will be helpful. Hope all is well over your way.

Best Wishes,
Shep walk

Thanks for the reply Shep. He does pitch but his primary position on the team is 3rd, although his home has been SS for a few years. There is a Senior there now, we hope he slides over after the Senior leaves next year.

He started off hitting over 660 but his average has been comming down. Went 1 for 3 tonight against a pitcher out of Gainesville touching 91. His first at bat (hittig 2nd)he had his first SO of the season. He hasn't seen that kind of heat before, caught him looking at a fastball on the outside corner. Thanks for remembering him!

Sounds like E is having banner year as I fully anticipated. Good that he is getting to see good live fastballs as underclassman. This experience can only help him get more prepared for the seasons' to come Smile
